Dante’s View 2
Dante’s View 2ProfileLast spring we introduced a new lightly-roasted blend featuring three washed coffees from Latin America; we called it Dante’s View. The concept behind the blend was to highlight sweet fruit and floral flavors with silky body and brightly balanced acidity. The plan was to carry the coffee for a limited-time with the intention of reviving the blend concept at some future date. Well, the day has come for Dante’s View 2. This time around we focused on fully washed and honey processed coffees from Central America to build a flavor profile that brings out some of the same characteristics you may remember from the original version of Dante’s View. The foundation of the blend is a washed Bourbon variety coffee from Roberto Ulloa’s farm La Divina Providencia, located in El Salvador’s Santa Ana Department. We combined the tangy fruit and sweet caramel flavors of this coffee with a ripe stone fruit and malt toned Costa Rica Tarazu grown on Finca Gamboa. Finally, for its honeydew-like sweetness and buttery mouthfeel, we added a little of the giant Maragogipe variety bean that was grown on El Translado, a farm in Nicaragua’s Nueva Segovia Department. Cupping NotesRich and layered with fruit flavors including bright orange and lemon, balanced by sweet dried peach and apricot and rounded with bergamot and honey suckle.
