Organic & Fair Trade

Coffees that are organic and fair trade represent a special commitment to both the environment and to the people who grow the coffee. Organic coffee is grown by traditional methods, without the use of pesticides and herbicides, which emphasize quality and sustainability, rather than high yield. Fair Trade is based on a trading partnership, helping coffee producers in developing countries earn a fair wage for their labor and gain direct access to the global marketplace. Fair Trade certification means that coffee is purchased directly from the cooperatives of small farmers that grow the coffee, helping them sustain their way of living. The two designations often go hand-in-hand.
