Aways start with fresh, filtered water. Measure out two tablespoons of ground coffee for each 6 ounce serving of coffee. For larger volumes, use one quarter pound of coffee for each half gallon (64 fluid ounces) brewed. For optimum freshness purchase the amount of coffee you will consume within one week and store in airtight (nonporous) container away from heat sources. It is recommended to freeze coffee only if you wish to use it at a future date. Put the coffee in an airtight container and place it in the freezer as soon as you buy it. When you are ready to use it, take it out of the freezer. Do not repeatedly take it in and out of the freezer. Make sure all stored coffee is kept airtight.
