Tea Preparation

  1. Start with cold, fresh, filtered water.
  2. Measure two teaspoons of tea (two heaping teaspoons for green, white and herbal teas) or four grams per 12- to 16-oz. serving.
  3. Heat water according to your tea:
    • Black Tea: 190° F. to boiling. Steep approximately 2-3 minutes.
    • Oolong Tea: 170° -190° F. Steep approximately 1-3 minutes.
    • Green Tea: 160° -185° F. Steep approximately 2-4 minutes.
    • Flower Tea: 185° -195° F. Steep approximately 3-4 minutes. Enjoy watching the tea unfurl.
    • White Tea: 155° -185° F. Steep up to 5 minutes.
    • Herbal Blends : Boiling. Steep up to 5 minutes.
  4. Pour water over tea leaves, cover the pot or cup, and infuse to taste.
    • Experiment with steeping time and the amount of tea to your own taste.
    • Do not over boil or reheat water - tea will taste flat.
