POSITION: Digital Marketing Manager


REPORTS TO: Head of Marketing


Equator Coffees is looking for a people-centered, problem solving digital marketing manager to join our team. This role is integral to the growth of Equator - handling the ongoing development, coordination, and day-to-day execution of our digital efforts. This high impact role is a great fit for an engaged, independent, and adaptable person - someone who gets excited about driving e-commerce acquisition, conversion, and retention, constantly iterating and optimizing everything from web banners to email flows. You are a quick learner who can identify opportunities and use data to proactively guide best practice.

Your day-to-day:

  • Backed by data driven decision-making, the DMM should be able to translate brand messaging and ideas to create a seamless customer experience on our digital platforms. 
  • Enhances customer experience and journey by optimizing website content and flow.
  • Collaborate with and manage agency partners (SEO) and consultants (Amazon) to drive growth.
  • Own all email marketing, developing tests, segmentation and lifecycle marketing.
  • Lead the content development and strategy for; optimizing SEO and on-site traffic.
  • Develop powerful customer and campaign insights to help improve strategy, merchandising, messaging, and sales across
  • Manage coffee subscription program, driving new member acquisition and retention.
  • Drive customer and prospect conversion onsite, tracking and optimizing customer journeys to increase customer conversion rates.
  • Identify gaps and build content that tells our brand story at all layers of the funnel from awareness to retention.
  • Customer loyalty/retention strategies and execution

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Superb e-commerce management, email and SMS marketing experience, having worked with complex segmentation and multiple products.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement.
  • Fascination with understanding the customer and how to segment and appeal to them.
  • A collaborative “figure it out” mindset with experience in small, nimble marketing teams.
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks, exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects through strong prioritization and planning, while ensuring stakeholder participation and alignment.
  • Committed to developing a socially responsible brand and businesses.

  • 3-5 years proven working experience in DTC/e-commerce management & email/SMS marketing.
  • Experience with premium brands and/or CPG preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of email best practices, legal requirements, and tools, ideally Klaviyo.
  • Deep knowledge of Shopify
  • Experience with Amazon, subscription tools (such as Ordergroove) and tools across digital marketing channels (e.g. AdWords).
  • Experience tracking and analyzing relevant KPIs utilizing tools such as Google Analytics, Glew, Shopify Analytics, etc.
  • Experience working with in-house creative, agency partners, and 3rd party web development teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment where entrepreneurship and initiative are encouraged; able to oscillate between strategic and tactical work (i.e. develop a plan, execute the plan).
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Trustworthy with integrity demonstrated at the highest level
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
