Snow Leopard Blend
Snow Leopard is a seasonal blend that gives us the opportunity to take single-origin coffees we enjoy on their own and combine them in unique ways to create something delicious! With summer upon us, we developed this iteration to be a refreshing cold-brew option, though it tastes great brewed as a pour-over as well. The blend is built around a coffee from Kenya that has a vibrant, citrusy acidity. Kenya’s nutrient-rich volcanic soil, heirloom varieties, meticulous processing, and high-altitude cultivation culminate in some of the world’s most unique coffees. These coffees are sold to registered buyers who taste samples weekly and compete at auction to secure them, rewarding high-quality lots. Our partners in Kenya purchase lots that are combined to meet the specifications and flavor profile we look for in this coffee.
To complete the blend, we added an Equator favorite from El Batan, Ecuador. After a few years of not carrying this coffee, we are excited to have it back and renew a relationship that began almost fifteen years ago. What began as a community organization established in 1986 by a small group of women coming together to find ways to earn income for their families, has since grown into the coffee farmer cooperative we know today. In 2010, Equator initiated a rolling micro-credit loan program for the farmers of El Batan and the surrounding El Airo region to provide access to funds for farm renovations, food security programs, and income diversification initiatives. This intensely sweet and subtly floral coffee balances out the assertive Kenya creating a versatile blend that can be enjoyed using a variety of brewing methods.
This version of Snow Leopard will only be available for a limited time -- as long as supplies of the component coffees last. This seasonally evolving blend is available on an ongoing basis.
