Kenya Ngurueri Single-Origin Espresso
Presenting Kenya Ngurueri, our latest single-origin espresso. This coffee was grown and harvested by members of the Murue Farmers Cooperative Society and processed at the Ngurueri washing station. When we first sampled this coffee, we thought it would make a great tasting shot of espresso. When it finally arrived, we ran a test roast through the espresso machine with good results. We are happy to share if with you at this time.
The Murue Co-op is located in Embu County, on the southeastern slopes of Mt. Kenya. About 1,000 active co-op members bring coffee cherries to the Ngurueri mill for processing. The mill was constructed in the 1970's, and serves farmers in Kavutiri, Kianjokoma and Ngurweri communities. Ngurueri is one of four mills operated by the co-op, the others are in Kavutiri, Gituara and Kianyangi. The co-op helps farms to improve coffee production through farmer training seminars, access to fertilizer, and through the annual publication of their sustainable farming handbook.
