Cibo Owners Pass the Baton to Equator Coffees to Preserve Their Legacy.
SAUSALITO – June 12, 2019 -- Equator Coffees founders Helen Russell and Brooke McDonnell join Cibo founders Tera and Alfredo Ancona in inviting Sausalito to experience Sausalito Equator opening this summer.
Located at 1201 Bridgeway in Sausalito, Cibo first opened its doors in 2009 and quickly became a beloved gathering spot by both Sausalito residents and tourists alike. Cibo is well known for their hand-crafted pastry selection, delectable café menu and commitment to freshly roasted coffee.
After 10 years, Tera and Alfredo made the decision to focus on their passion for food and Tera’s desire of growing a wholesale bakery business. They knew they needed to find the right partner who shared their passion for community centered around memorable experiences with coffee, food and friends. “We approached Helen and Brooke because of our shared passion for community and excellence. We knew they would continue to bring to Sausalito what we worked so hard to build.” said Tera.
When Sausalito Equator’s doors open, Cibo fans will continue to be treated to Tera and her team’s incredible pastries. In fact, Tera’s pastries will now be available at all Equator locations in San Francisco and Marin. “We have a lot of admiration for Tera and Alfredo and the community hub they have created with Cibo and we will continue to offer the Sausalito community everything they have grown to love and expect.” said Helen. This includes neighborhood events, community art installations and familiar gatherings at the café. Adds Helen: “We look forward to meeting our new neighbors and honoring Cibo’s legacy. We will work our hardest to bring the Sausalito community the very best cafe experience.”
