Since 1995, we’ve believed that better coffee could create a better world. Over two decades later, we see the progress.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
THE CHAIN OF WELL-BEING
Equator connects global coffee farming communities and coffee lovers in the US. The journey from seed to cup is long. Every step in our supply chain should be equitable, sustainable and beneficial for all involved. We call it the Chain of Well-Being.
PARTNER
We treasure our relationships in the global coffee community and invest in projects at origin to help our partners and their communities thrive. For instance, our World Bicycle Relief Blend funds the purchase and distribution of bicycles in countries where reliable transportation can lead to economic opportunity and educational success.
SOURCE
Our strong relationships throughout the coffee community allow us to source distinctive coffees directly from producers committed to excellence, sustainability, and responsible farming. Our Honduras San Vicente Anibal Pineda is a unique coffee from a partner we've worked with for 6 years.
WORK
From our producer partners at origin to the baristas at our cafes, the work of making great coffee should be sustaining for everyone. That’s why we pay fair prices for our coffee and offer robust benefits to all our employees. Our Sumatra Queen Ketiara Fair Trade Organic is purchased at a fair price from a co-op that invests in their members.
ROAST
Our dedicated roasting team obsesses about every detail when bringing out the full flavor of our coffees. Strict quality assurance and constant calibration ensure that you’re brewing the best we have to offer. What we do well, we also do good by investing in energy efficient Loring Smart Roasters to reduce carbon emissions per batch by 80%.
SHARE
We believe in bringing people together with coffee. We consider it our social responsibility to be contributing members of the communities that gather at our cafes.
PRODUCE
Making great coffee is complex. We’re continually perfecting our extraction methods and latte pours. By always finding ways to improve, we can make each shot of Tigerwalk Espresso shine while building an extraordinary cafe experience.
GIVEBACK
Equator gives back to our local and global communities partnering with award-winning chefs to craft incredible coffees for great causes. As the first coffee roaster in California to be a Certified B Corporation, we are committed to use our business as a force for good.

Certified B Corp
Since 2011
As a certified B Corporation, Equator is a demonstrative leader in sustainable practices. It is a valuable process that pushes us to articulate policies and refine our processes. We are proud to be part of this growing community of more than 1,600 certified B Corps from 42 countries, and over 120 industries, working together toward one unifying goal: using business as a force for good.
