Why We Love This Coffee

Although coffee production began relatively late in Kenya, the country has quickly established and maintained a reputation for excellence. From the outset, Kenyan coffee has been celebrated for its high quality, meticulous processing, and distinctive flavor profile. Yet, it stands as something of an outlier in the global coffee landscape: while producers in many other countries increasingly experiment with varieties and processing methods, Kenyan growers tend to stick with tradition. With washed processing yielding consistently exceptional results, few are inclined to tinker with fermentation techniques, flotation adjustments, or extended drying times. Still, the country’s top lots remain among the most sought-after and revered coffees in the world.
